Hey everybody, it's that time again: time to vote for which stuff gets the LiberaPay/Patreon money this month!

As always, anyone can vote (please do!), but LiberaPay and Patreon patrons get double weight for their votes.  (Due to Patreon's porn purges, I really encourage you to use LiberaPay, if you get a choice.) If you want to see the blurbs for any of these works, those are here!  (You can also leave your requests there; requesting a story or essay is always free!) If you don't have a DW and so can't do the poll, that's okay; just leave your vote in the comments below; anon comments are turned on.

Which works gets the money, and thus posted this month?  YOU CHOOSE, readers!

boneyhag on bsky has created a spreadsheet of banned/de-indexed works on itch.io! Some good creators and works on there, (including Muepin's Special Request, which I own), and overwhelmingly queer work (what a shock). I added some stuff to my wishlist! Perhaps you can too!

(If you're one of the folks who got burned, linked post also has a submission form adding your work to the spreadsheet.)

Due to Dreamwidth having to block views from all Mississippi users, I'm going to have to fucking take every single story and essay on this damn website and mirror and back it up on healthymultiplicity.com.

Mississippi's requirements are strict:
This act applies only to a digital service provider who provides a digital service that:
(a) Connects users in a manner that allows users to socially interact with other users on the digital service;
(b) Allows a user to create a public, semi-public or private profile for purposes of signing into and using the digital service; and
(c) Allows a user to create or post content that can be viewed by other users of the digital service, including sharing content on:
(i) A message board;
(ii) A chat room; or
(iii) A landing page, video channel or main feed that presents to a user content created and posted by other users.

So this includes Dreamwidth (and all other Livejournal clones), Fanfiction.net, an AOL Instant Messenger chat room, a forum, presumably Patreon and itch.io... but oddly probably not 4chan, since that has no profiles! healthymultiplicity.com is kinda my only option, because the site allows for no social interaction.

I am very sorry for the inconvenience. Having my work accessible to the public is extremely important to me, but man, the past couple months have been pretty rough when it comes to politicians and payment processors getting between me and my willing readers!

lots of game stuff go on in head recently . not everything is like , good ? but at least fun to poke around and try . might be in too deep when literally have dreams about design journal games ...

also work on curate collections of other people's games ! well , really mainly this collection - faerie adventures . various non-video games with faerie themes , faerie setups , faerie characters ... all of that good stuff . include commentary with notes about player count and perspective , so should be easy enough to find solo games where player is faerie , or duo games with human and faerie , and so on . also have separate collections for games that not yet read or play to give commentary , which is ... decently big still . then after that have wishlist to work through , gwahaha .

on that note , feel like would be really nice to export collections , like to keep offline copy of blurbs and everything . can manually copy that stuff over , but bleh , manual . >_>

also chip away at stuff for website ! which is still mostly just elder scrolls infodump zone for dear old thaliendir . but on that subject , actually play some journal games through lens of thaliendir ... some pretty horny ones , hehehe . mostly talk about that stuff on tumblr ( thaliendir sideblog ) because that is where people actually follow for TES , which is why see slightly less both here and on main tumblr blog :'D

The Child

Once, there was a Sea that cut through the horizon and traveled on past the sun and moon. Her water was as dark as the inside of one's eyelids, and the only beach She touched was filled with pebbles like seaglass. The pebbles, too, ran on and on, piling up in great rocky hills that broke from the sea. Above, the stars and aurorae danced together in swoops of neon glitter, specks of light reflecting down onto the Sea's waves.

One day, from Her waters came a Child, and that Child wore a skin of stone and seaglass to cover the water flowing in their heart.

Per the [site community profile] dw_news post regarding the MS/TN blocks, we are doing a small code push shortly in order to get the code live. As per usual, please let us know if you see anything wonky.

There is some code cleanup we've been doing that is going out with this push but I don't think there is any new/reworked functionality, so it should be pretty invisible if all goes well.

"What about the others from the show? Do you ever see them?"

"They've all been gone for years. Longtusk held out the longest. But I was the star, and the stars are always the last ones left."

Blurb: Lauren's been a fan of Terrence Tiger since she was a little girl, and the chance to interview the cartoon star is any fan's dream. But there's more to Terrence than sight gags and pratfalls, and soon there's more to their relationship than either of them expected.

Why is it worth your time?: It's a bittersweet story of fandom and shameless love of the beings who populate our favorite cartoons. I enjoyed it!

Plural Tags: abuse not mentioned, nonhumans (Robert Rabbit style toons, anthropomorphic animals), romantic relationships

Content Warnings: contain spoilers; see comments

Access Notes: Available for free reading online on Weasyl (back-up link, also available in the collection Six Impossible Things and Bad Dog Press's ROAR vol. 3 (which appears to be out of print). Screenreadable.

"I'm hallucinating," David said. "Right?"

Jinks stretched. "Never fails. When kids see something they can't explain, it's magic. When adults see something they can't explain, they're cracking up. It's a pretty limiting way of looking at the world, if you ask me."

Blurb: As a new father, David feels he's supposed to be an adult, but his premature daughter is clinging to life in the hospital, and he's never felt so helpless... until his childhood imaginary friend returns to remind him that growing up isn't just about leaving things behind.

Why is it worth your time?: It's a sweet story about intergenerational imaginary friends! Free to read online, give it a shot!

Plural Tags: abuse not mentioned, otherworld, imaginary friends, nonhumans (purple horned big cat, winged horse), friendship, visions

Content Warnings: It's not a spoiler to say that worries about a premature infant's survival is a big part of this story!

Access Notes: Free to read online at Weasyl. (Back-up link here.) Also available as part of the author's ebook short story collection Six Impossible Things.

While digging through sci-fi library magazine archives, I found an old 2000 magazine that had the very charming short story, "Princess Angelina and the Dragon," by Renee Carter Hall. Since finding copies of that magazine is pretty hard for most people, I emailed the author about it, and she benevolently chose to upload it online for everyone to enjoy! Ain't that nice of her?

I know I got some dragon-smoochers as readers, so please enjoy this cute fractured fairy tale story of dragon smoochery!

I wonder if you really send
Those dreams of you that come and go!
I like to say, "She thought of me,
And I have known it." Is it so?

Blurb: A poem where one woman pines for the loss of another, but is still able to be with her in dreams.

Why is it worth your time?: Similar in tone and content to Shakespeare's 27, a poem of those who visit us in dreams. It's free, short, and publicly online, what have you got to lose?

Plural Tags: abuse not mentioned, dreamfolk

Content Warnings: None.

Access Notes: Screenreadable and freely available to read online, courtesy of the Atlantic! I've also backed it up on the Wayback Machine and reposted the poem in its entirety in the comments, since it should be in the public domain.

Misc Notes: Sarah Orne Jewett had many passionate friendships with women, which marriage tended to strain. This poem perhaps recognizes that.
